The history of the Victoria brand began in Spain way back in 1915, in a picturesque town in La Rioja. Here, founder Gregorio had the enlightening inspiration to create a line of shoes, naming it after his wife Victoria. It was the American college gag of the brand's early boom years: “what is Victoria' Secret?” What is Vittoria's secret? With the quarterback on duty replying: "he's a man", making the whole team locker room or the girls in the canteen laugh. Except it was all true. Very true.
